Description

This is a day camp focused on teaching kids, age 8 to 12 years old, about growing and cooking food from a home garden. This camp will cover growing and caring for plants and encourage kids to cook and eat the vegetables they grow. The camp will include fun and creative indoor and outdoor activities including arts and crafts, cooking practice and completing a gardening project. Participants will make their own lunch and will take home a variety of project items. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Child's age should be determined as of September 1, 2021. This class will require a minimum of 6 participants or it will be cancelled. Due to class size limitations, pre-registration is required. Refunds will only be issued if requests are made before June 21, 2022. ----------------------------------------------------------------- For persons with disabilities requiring special accommodations, please contact the Extension Office (TDD, via Florida Relay Service, 1-800-955-8771) at least five working days prior to the class so that proper consideration may be given to the request. 4-H is the Youth Development Program of the Florida Cooperative Extension Service and the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. 4-H programs are available for all youth between the ages of 5-18 regardless of gender, race, creed, color, religion, or disability.
