LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A teen is accused of using a brick to injure a man during an armed robbery that happened in May at the Libertyville Metra station.
The incident happened at about 12:20 p.m. on May 16 at the Metra depot, 200 Lake Street. According to police, a man, who was later identified as Kendale L. Brown, 18, approached a 32-year-old man and hit him in the face with a brick before stealing his backpack.
The man sustained minor injuries and was evaluated at the scene by paramedics but declined further medical treatment, Libertyville Police Department Sgt. Jason Kapusinski told Patch in an email response.
When officers arrived, they found Brown and took him into custody. They also learned Brown, whose address is listed as the 400 block of North St. Louis Street in Chicago, was wanted on a Kane County warrant for failing to appear in court, according to police report.
Brown was charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery and appeared for a remote bond hearing where his bail was set at $200,000.
