Pulaski County: County Judge Attends Ribbon Cutting Of North Little Rock Pavilion On Arkansas River Trail

Press release from the Pulaski County Government: May 18, 2022 Pulaski County Judge Barry Hyde attended the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of a new pavilion on the Arkansas River Trail Wednesday, May 18, 2022. The pavilion, a collaboration between the City of North Little Rock Recreation Department and the Arkansas Master Naturalists, is located across from the Hatfield/McCoy Bridge. This project started as an extension of the CAMN trail building work on the Pfeifer Loop and the short horse trail through Burns Park to the Big Dam Bridge. AMN officials said the pavilion is where the Arkansas River Trail, the Isabella Jo Trail, the North Shore Trail and the Pfeifer Loop meet. Parking is at 4100 Cook's Landing Road at the base of the Big Dam Bridge. "For 15 years, [Central Chapter of Arkansas Master Naturalists] CAMN members have educated the public and introduced kids to the wonders of nature and the responsibility we all share in caring for it. CAMN volunteers have built trails, provided housing for birds, monitored the quality of rivers and lakes, picked up litter, removed invasive species, grown and planted native plants, and provided educated citizen scientists," Davis Thompson of AMN said. Arkansas Master Naturalists began in 2006 with volunteer educators, citizen scientists, and stewards of the environment devoted to preserving Arkansas' natural beauty.
