The New Mexico Raging Grannies have been active for a couple of decades in the Albuquerque area. Now that our guitar accompanist has moved to Santa Fe, we'd like to get a Raging Granny gaggle started in Santa Fe. You may have seen/heard us at the Bans Off Our Bodies rally for reproductive rights on May 14 at the Roundhouse, or at the Women's rally in October of last year at the Roundhouse. Or you may have heard us at any of the numerous anti-war, climate change, voting rights, anti-nuke, pro-women, Medicare-For-All, pro-democracy, anti-gun violence, etc., demonstrations and marches in Albuquerque over the years. We are from a generation when protests always included protest songs, and we're bringing that tradition back to life. We choose tunes that people are familiar with so the crowd can sing along, and we re-write the lyrics to fit the event. Would you like to join us? A good singing voice is not a requirement, nor is being a grandmother. There is no obligation to participate in every scheduled event. Actually, the only requirement to be a Raging Granny is being a middle aged or older woman with righteous anger over the outrageous state of our climate and our nation's politics, economic inequity, hyper-militarism, racism, and creeping fascism.
