Description
Hi! My name is Daniel McClure and I am a 30-year-old graduate student working as a Mental Health Counseling Associate here in the Portland community. Outside of mental health I have been on my own personal journey as a musician for about 15 years. I have taught private lessons for piano and guitar in the past through music shops as well as on my own. I have also acquired a couple dozen college credits in music, studying topics such as: Music history/appreciation, ensemble/band, guitar, piano proficiency, western music theory, sight singing, sight reading, etc.
I currently have a few openings for beginner/intermediate students for piano or guitar lessons. I host these lessons out of my home in South East Portland. Parents are encouraged to hang out in this space if they wish to be engaged with the teaching process however this is not required. I also really enjoy teaching adults! Regardless of whether you are brand new to music or returning to an instrument after a long break I can help you on your journey to exploring your creativity and the music that is meaningful to you! (It’s never too late and I encourage you to reach out if you are on the fence!) I have a professional upright acoustic piano to utilize in this teaching space as well as an amp for those who wish to play electric guitar.
My rates are:
30 min lesson (recommended for younger kids) – $20
60 minute lesson - $35
I also offer a free consultation lesson which are typically about 15-30 minutes long to see if we are a good fit for working together.
