Silver Strike Concrete is hiring a yard laborer/backup Batchman position. Must be able to start work at varies times in the morning depending on plant needs, be flexible regarding work hours, ability to work overtime, have dependable transportation and pass a pre-employment drug test. If you enjoy working outdoors, highly dependable and can handle a lot of physical work, this position could be for you. Yard Laborer duties include: *Shoveling material, continual sweeping around the plant and hosing down the yard * Driving Forklift, backhoe or loader to move rock into bins for the conveyor belts * Keeping reclaimed ponds clean so trucks can continue to unload their extra ready mix material * Helping mechanics fix plans when plant has issues * Moving or loading material from one location to another location (across street) * Keeping weeds at bay - light landscaping that includes weeding and raking * Emptying bins/garbage from main office or plants when full or requested Backup Batchman duties include: • Perform daily pre-plant inspection before first driver’s start time. • Ensure plant is set up for the days workload. • Maximize driver efficiency by keeping all employees productive and on task. • Load color and fiber orders correctly and timely. • Communicate any delay in services to the dispatch department in a timely manner. • Monitor and manage water storage facilities. • Ensure that inventory for all materials and supplies are kept to established levels and updated in computers. • Collect and record cash payments and issue proper receipts. • Monitor all conveyor and material handling equipment. • Complete daily plant paperwork and reporting. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Batch plant experience highly preferred • Maintenance experience a plus • Excellent interpersonal skills Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
