Interested in learning more about large film format photography? This is for you! A 4×5 Large Format Demo with Kerrenton Snow Date: Sunday, June 5 Time: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Location: On the National Mall in front of the Smithsonian Castle Cost: Free If you are interested in large format photography but really aren’t sure where to begin, join photographer Kerrenton Snow, in partnership with local camera shop Pro Photo, as he covers all the basics involved in using a 4×5 large format camera to capture everything from landscapes and architecture to fine art portraiture. He’ll be joined by event organizer Shedrick Pelt as the talk about large format photography, and film photography in general. Kerrenton will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of large format over other film formats, from the cost and size of the negatives to the size of the camera and speed of the lenses. Most of all, he’ll share his passion for large format and walk you through some photographs on the National Mall. This event is part of Focus on the Story's city-wide June photo festival About the speakers Kerrenton Snow is a software engineer in the aerospace field. He has always had an affinity for technology and electronics, which led to an interest in cameras 10 years ago. What started as a hobby has evolved into one of his strongest passions and creative outlets, which include digital photography, 35mm, medium and large format film photography, at-home development, videography and post-production work. He loves to shoot portraits in and out of the studio, as well as document all of the brutalist architecture DC has to offer. Shedrick Pelt has worked as a photographer, designer, and creative director for 10+ years primarily focused on photojournalism and portrait, music, and commercial photography. About Partners Pro Photo has been providing professional camera sales and repair services to the Greater Washington region for nearly forty years, Pro Photo is a family-owned and operated business dedicated to meeting the needs of photographers at all levels. In addition to our core tasks, we also provide additional services including passport pictures, equipment rentals, consignment, in-house printing, film processing, lessons, and image recovery.
