Join us on June 6th at Land-Grant Brewing Company! Share your talents and time to help someone feel great ❤️✌️ The Make-A-Day Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides outreach to Columbus’ homeless population and any of our neighbors in need. Our block party styled, pop-up outreach events focus on providing opportunities for homeless guests to build personal relationships with other community members. We provide guests with personal care items, and a complimentary meal from a gourmet local food truck. Make-A-Day also offers guests free haircuts, shampoos, styling, and shaves from some of the city’s best local cosmetologists. Make-A-Day Foundation’s guests will also have access to help obtaining “on-the-spot” Medicaid health insurance coverage, as well as medical, behavioral health, veteran services, domestic violence support, and smart justice services & referrals. RAIN CONTINGENCY: Please go across the street from Land Grant to the building on Lucas Street. Enter between the blue and yellow “400” doors! Hair Volunteer: The event will be taking place from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm for our guests, but volunteers will need to be on-site from 10:30 am-2 pm. We appreciate our hair volunteers so much!! It's amazing the difference we can make in someones day by a fresh cut and friendly conversation. Our guests are so appreciative of what we do for them. The joy is noticeable and infectious!!! Bring your shears, combs, clippers & trimmers (cordless is easiest if you have them) We provide everything else. We have a mobile shampoo station, towels, capes, and sanitizing solutions and sprays. We can't wait to see you!!! Mini Volunteer Training - SAVE THE DATE - June 3rd, 1 pm-2 pm Make-A-Day Foundation will host a 1-hour mini-training on Friday, June 3rd, at 1 pm, prior to the event, to help people feel comfortable talking to our guests! All volunteers registered will receive a link shortly before the training, so SAVE THE DATE on your calendar if you want to attend! After the 40 minute presentation, there will be 15 minutes for questions.
