Kick off your UNBOUND experience by joining GU Energy Labs, Gravel City Roasters, Kenda Tires, and Craft Sportswear for a coffee and shakeout ride on Thursday, June 2nd. Arrive at 9:00am at Gravel City Roasters to sip some freshly brewed coffee, share some laughs, and help support Angie Bakers, Bloomhouse Foundation and Molly Camerons RIDE Foundation. RIDE wristbands will be available for purchase and all proceeds will go back to Bloomhouse. After coffee, we'll roll over to 7th and Mechanic to begin the shakeout ride. A little about each foundation: Bloomhouse Youth Services - BHYS is a Basic Center, meaning we offer a Drop In Center and Shelter created in the Basic Center Program model for youth under 18, we offer shelter and services to homeless and runaway youth and any youth in need who may be housing insecure or at risk. Our services include trauma-informed art therapy and case management services, referrals to other area resources, access to food, bathrooms and laundry, a safe place to study, gather, learn life skills, have fun, and safe people to talk to. But that's not all. We have big goals for continued growth and expanded services in the future!RIDE Foundation - RIDE advocates for the human rights, equality, respect, representation, privacy, and dignity of the LGBTQIA+ community within sport and outdoor industries.Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) are not just words to describe policies and regulations that corporate HR departments and social justice warriors use regularly. DEI means embracing different people and their communities, and RIDE is bridging the diverse parts of the athletic and business communities.RIDE was launched during the response to a wave of disinformation and discriminatory legislation being considered across the United States targeting human rights, access to health care, to youth and scholastic sport, and the fundamental freedoms of LGBTQ+ citizens. The current political climate has created the space for business leaders to engage their organizations in constructive dialogues and non-performative actions on social issues.DEI is more than just a regulatory acronym in business. Good leadership embraces difference as a competitive advantage. It is more important than ever to make DEI work a core metric of your workforce strategy. Working together with businesses and communities, RIDE negotiates the emotional and human components of these issues through lived experience, empathy, and understanding. We are Riders Inspiring Diversity and Equality. We can't wait to #GUFORIT with all you epic riders! Special thank you to our friends at Lifetime, Gravel City Roasters, Kenda Tires, and Craft Sportswear - we wouldn't have been able to make this shakeout happen without you! See you in Emporia, GU Crew!
