This FREE family-friendly event will get youth ages 6-12 on their bikes and learning smart cycling skills to use this summer and beyond! Kick off the summer with some FAMILY FUN at the Smart Cycling Youth Clinic!This FREE family-friendly event will get youth ages 6-12 on their bikes and learning smart cycling skills they can practice this summer and beyond! Parking is available on site at Healthcare Foundation of La Porte, but families are encouraged to ride to the event! Take a family ride after the event on the beautiful Chessie Trail! Water, Gatorade, and healthy snacks will be provided for all in attendance. Come ready to learn and show off your skills at the following stations: Helmet fittingBicycle safetyStarting/stoppingRiding in a straight lineAvoiding hazardsBalancingScanning & signalingTurning & yieldingYouth ages 6-12 completing this skills clinic will receive a certificate of completion, free helmet provided by Bob's Bicycles (while supplies last!), as well as several great giveaways! This family-friendly event is hosted by Bob's Bicycles in partnership with The League of American Bicyclists League Cycling Instructor David Heinold, Healthcare Foundation of La Porte, and PNC Bank. Attendees of all ages are welcome, but participating youth must be ages 6-12 years and must bring their own bike. All youth must be accompanied by a parent/guardian ages18 years or older during the entirety of the event. Participant waivers are required and will be available on site for a parent/guardian to sign on the day of the event. Tickets are FREE but are required for all attending this event.
