The FSA is primarily responsible for cleaning and maintain the appearance of our preschool according to compliance standards set by state and city regulations. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for the FSA to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning, and tidying the premises. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a facilities support role focused on building upkeep. They will have great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years of facilities support/janitorial/custodial experience High school diploma is preferred but not required CPR and First Aid (available on hire) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED/DESIRED: Ability to work as a team member with all staff and communicate professionally with church members, guests, suppliers, and vendors. Attention to detail and conscientiousness. Some ability to effect minor repairs such as plumbing, electrical, etc. would be helpful but not mandatory. Reliability and punctuality are non-negotiable elements of this position. CRITICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop, sustain, and maintain working relationships with all members, staff, and guests of Hope Presbyterian Church. Ensure there is a clean, safe, and orderly place for worship, education, and fellowship by using cleaning supplies and equipment to keep the buildings clean and looking professional. Perform routine cleaning tasks based on a schedule created by the facility management team. Respond to requests quickly and in a professional manner. Adhere to the church’s safety policies to create a safe work environment for everyone.
