About us The Humane Society of Central Oregon (HSCO) has a full-time and part-time position open for Canine Animal Care Attendant (ACA). ACA’s are responsible for the care and maintenance of our kennel areas. They are first in the line of defense against disease and are integral in maintaining a healthy environment for our animals. Daily care, cleaning, feeding, and enrichment of our dog population will be your responsibility. You will work both in a team environment as well as independently. Your duties will include providing exceptional care to every animal we are presented with. Position entails maintaining HSCO canine population, including but not limited to: • Daily monitoring for health and behavior. • Cleaning and sanitizing dog kennels. • Providing enrichment (toys, walks, and playtime.) • Daily feeding. The ideal candidate for this position may have experience in a kennel setting, although we are willing to train committed new team members. Experience handling dogs a plus.You should: • Have a positive attitude and work in a fast paced, changing, and sometimes stressful environment • Be able to stay organized, focused and prioritize the work that needs to be accomplished • Have excellent follow through on details • Be able to apply common sense understanding to any situation that may arise • Have the confidence to apply your skills within the boundaries of shelter protocols Our offer Hourly wage with a robust benefit package for full-time employees and a compassionate team who genuinely care about each other. Schedule will include Saturdays and some holidays. Pay range is $13-$14/hr and is DOE. Shifts are day-time hours. Full time is 5 days a week 7am-3:30pm and Part time is 4 days per week 7am-12pm Full time employees receive benefit package that includes Health, Vision, Dental and more! HSCO provides physical, medical, and behavioral care for approximately 3,000 abandoned, neglected and abused companion animals each year.
