Apply online at Ocean Beauty Seafoods in Monroe, WA is in need of a Smoke Master!  We are lucky enough to employ one of the best fish smokers in the world currently so come apprentice under him!  Base pay starts at $18.50 but can be higher depending on experience. In August 2021, we installed brand new top of the line smokehouses! Job Duties: *Operates/cleans smokehouses according to set guidelines. *Learns to monitor, record, and, communicate product progression through the smoking process. *Follows all company GMP’s and HACCP standards set by Ocean Beauty Seafoods. *Maintains a clean and sanitary work area to meet USDC standards, and properly cares for equipment. *Maintains an accurate and up-to-date list of products produced daily. *Acquires the knowledge to prepare fish for smoking, using brining, washing, rinsing, drying, techniques according to product specifications. *Learns how to prepare ingredients and mixing of spices, salts, sugars, for each flavor recipe produced. *Understands what the art of smoking fish, taste, appearance, moisture content that is expected. *Follows all company safety policies and procedures. *Responds to change productively and handles other duties as required. Skills: *Someone that follows direction well and is willing to learn how to become a Smoke Master.  *Must be able to work at a steady pace and keep up with the flow and demand of production. Conditions can be noisy, wet and cold. We supply rain gear, ear and eye protection, it is up to you supply your own waterproof boots. All hired candidates will be drug tested and have background checks prior to employment.
