Roundabouts, Squalicum and Birchwood on Meridian

Description
** Roundabouts are planned for Birchwood / Meridian and Squalicum / Meridian. Did you miss the meeting in 2019? Have you heard about this? Guess you didn't live within the thousand foot radius and weren't one of the 1,089 people notified. Or one of the whopping 14 people that went to the fifteen minute presentation. I found out from a neighbor who's neighbor knows someone in construction. You'd think for a 6 to 8+million dollar project, people within a larger radius could have their voices heard. My understanding that it's the two roundabout option, but it came through two people, so it's hearsay. I know this is an odd question, but do they really think that a thousand foot radius of a project that sees 2400 vehicles during 7-9am and 4-6pm, but not counting during the rest of the time, is a real survey? Did they think the 14 person turnout was great? Isn't this similar to taxation without representation. We pay bookoo property taxes, shouldn't we have a say how they use it? Can't they repave dozens of streets, fix potholes, maybe fix a few hundred alleys with the money instead. The double roundabout one was noted to have issues in the study. Vehicles backing access to E. Maplewood. Because the space between is so small between the roundabouts, traffic could back up to the adjacent one. During rush hour, good luck trying to get onto it from Birchwood or Squalicum, especially if you have a semi in front of you. At least with the light, you know your turn will come. Which is true for each intersection. Forget trying to be a pedestrian, no matter how safe they say it is, might as well run out onto the freeway. One pedestrian will stop the majority of the roundabout. How much are they taking off of Cornwall? If we let them do it now, what stops them in the future? It will be just as important to them then. If this goes in, I've already figured my drive around. That's probably not part of the plan though. Write letters to the City Council.
