2022 1p36 Deletion Support & Awareness Annual Conference The registration fee covers: - Conference attendance and materials - Lunch for attendees age 2 and up on Friday and Saturday- Breakfast for attendees 2 and up Friday and Saturday -Conference T-shirt for attendees 2 and up (all attendees with 1p36 DS will receive a shirt regardless of age) Registration ends June 30th, 2022 The 14th annual 1p36 Deletion Support & Awareness conference will be in the jewel of the South, Charlotte, North Carolina, on Thursday, July 28th through Saturday, July 30th, 2022.  The conference will be held in the Uptown District, at The Westin Charlotte, in the heart of what is known as the Queen City. Home of many champions, including the NFL Carolina Panthers, NBA Charlotte Hornets, MiLB Charlotte Nights and most notably famous for Nascar Racing, Charlotte is at the heart of celebrating winners.   Our conference this year will focus on celebrating our 1P36 champions and providing their “pit crews” with valuable information, resources and support to help them be a part of the Winner’s Circle.  A team of medical professionals, genetic experts and other specialists will share information, research and clinical studies relevant to 1P36 Deletion Syndrome, to educate our champions, families and care-givers, and enable them to be stronger advocates for their loved ones.  As we often focus on taking care of the champion as our number one priority, self-care often falls to the way-side.  An important aspect of taking care of a champion is dependent on having a top-notch team supporting them.  A self-care panel focusing on nutrition, exercise, mindfulness and meditation will share helpful information about how taking care of yourself will lend to better care for your champion.  Lastly, the annual 1P36 conference is about cultivating lifelong friendships with people and family from a multitude of diverse backgrounds and geographies, yet share one thing, a crucial chromosome thing, in common that brings us all together. A special group rate starting at $139/night for standard rooms (1 King or 2 double beds) has been negotiated at The Westin Charlotte with WiFi included (taxes and fees not included).  The reservation link is https://book.passkey.com/go/1p36DeletionSupport.  You may also note any special requests, accessibility needs or bed size preference, and the hotel will do their best to accommodate.  If you prefer a larger room or suite, you may visit the Westin Charlotte to view the hotel’s availability. A special parking rate of $20/day has also been arranged for self-parking, and valet is also available for an extra cost.  The special group rate has also been made available for up to 3 days before and after the conference.  If you would like to extend your stay, you may call the hotel directly to check availability at 1-866-837-4148.  Hotel reservation must be made by July 7, 2022 to get the conference rate. The Westin is ideally located in Uptown Charlotte, just steps away from many attractions including the Nascar Hall of Fame, Bank of America stadium, and Charlotte Knights BB&T ballfield.  With dozens of magnificent museums and top culinary restaurants within walking distance, its location makes it a premier destination for visitors. For those that want to venture further outside of the Uptown region, there is a LINX Blue Line station (Charlotte’s light rail service) conveniently located within the hotel.  The Westin also offers a pool, fitness and business center, and a multitude of restaurants and lounges.
