Burge Family Reunion held every 2 years to commemorate descendants of the Negro Burge Family which worked the plantations in Rome, GA. Reaching out to possible descendants of Warren, Elizabeth, Johnnie, Derry, Shepherd, Reuben, Thomas and Arthur - All believed to be siblings on the Burge Family Plantation. Rome, Ga was believed to be the home of the plantation and all the sibling are believed to be related. As the story goes, there was many fires in Rome GA burning down all the Negro belongings, similar to that of the Tulsa Race riots, which most of the Negroes left Rome, Ga.
