Chase T. Brooke, the Collin County Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. will cover the unique challenges and opportunities that urban homesteading can bring, with specific focuses on keeping chickens, managing a garden, and rainwater catchment for irrigation among others.
Gretchen Tschetter, the 2022 Collin County Honey Bee Queen, will then give an introduction to beekeeping, complete with an observation hive. She began beekeeping in 2021 as part of the Collin County Hobby Beekeepers Association youth scholarship program.
