DADE CITY, FL — An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a shooting Wednesday afternoon that killed a father and injured his 11-year-old son and a 16-year-old girl. The Pasco sheriff's office said Demetrius Roberts was identified as one of the people involved in the shooting. The sheriff's office has obtained arrest warrants for Roberts for delinquent in possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon in connection with the shooting. According to Pasco County Sheriff's Maj. Jeffrey Peake, two teen girls began fist fighting in the Johns Road area off River Road in Dade City around 1 p.m. See related story: 1 Man Dead, 2 Children Injured During Shooting In Dade City He said a number of people gathered to watch the fight. At some point, one or more people began firing a gun, he said. The 11-year-old boy, his father and a 16-year-old girl were among the spectators. The sheriff's office said both children are expected to recover from injuries that are not life-threatening. Anyone with information on Roberts' whereabouts or any other information on the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477) and could be eligible for a reward.
