Calling All Color celebrates multi-culturalism by addressing issues middle schoolers face related to bullying and cultural acceptance. The congregation of Mother Emanuel AME Church and Palmetto Community Action Partnership (CAP) invite the Charleston community to free half day camp for middle school students on June 23 to celebrate unity and diversity. This engaging, meaningful event is being held in conjunction with the Emanuel Commemoration Committee’s official Light of Hope activities to celebrate the enduring legacy of the Emanuel 9 and the survivors. Youth will participate in interactive games and conversations about the challenges of middle school and how we can all learn from one another, no matter how different we may be. Based on a curriculum developed at Coastal Carolina University, youth will learn how to appreciate diversity and differences and how to promote multi-culturalism in their schools and communities. Advanced registration is required and open to current middle school students. Registration is limited, so please register early! Registration will close when full or on June 21, 2022 at 11:30 PM.
