Judge slaps down mistrial request by Clinton lawyer in Durham Trials

Description

Federal Judge Christopher Cooper rejected defense arguments that testimony by former Clinton campaign general counsel Marc Elias on Wednesday had poisoned the jury against Sussmman, who’s charged with lying to the FBI. Sussmann, while working for the Clinton campaign, is accused of falsely denying that he was working on behalf of the Clinton campaign and another client, former tech executive Rodney Joffe, when he gave the FBI since-debunked computer data that purportedly revealed a secret back channel between a Trump Organization computer server and Russia’s Alfa Bank. Durham is connecting the dots and it will soon lead to the criminal ultimately responsible for illegally obtaining a FISA warrant to spy upon a political opponent as well as a sitting President of the United States. It makes Watergate look like child's play. Here are the guilty parties named so far: 1. Michael Sussmann: Cybersecurity lawyer who worked for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign; charged with lying to the FBI 2. Rodney Joffee: Former tech executive and Sussmann client who told him about a purported cyber back channel between the Trump Organization and Russia’s Alfa-Bank 3. Christopher Steele: British ex-spy hired by Fusion GPS; compiled the infamous and debunked “Steele dossier” of reports on Trump and Russia 4. Marc Elias: Clinton campaign general counsel, former partner of Sussmann’s at Perkins Coie law firm 5. and 6. Peter Fritsch and Glenn Simpson: Former Wall Street Journal reporters who co-founded the Fusion GPS research company; worked for Clinton’s campaign 7. James A. Baker: Former FBI general counsel; received Alfa-Bank information from Sussmann 8. Andrew McCabe: Former FBI deputy director; lied and contradicted the basis for the charge against Sussmann during a 2017 briefing, lied to President Trump, then leaked the story to the press knowing that it was all a lie. Guess who the big fish is at the end of the line?
