This summer, SUU Community Reads and Cedar City Library are celebrating the autobiography, “Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl” by Harriet Jacobs, first published in 1861.
Join the Discussion: A community conversation about the book will take place June 15, 7-8:30 p.m. at Cedar City Library. Hosted by SUU Community Education, the conversation will be led by SUU Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences Jean Boreen, and Utah Humanities Past Chairwoman Janice Brooks.
Get your FREE copy of Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs registering for this event. Books are available for pick-up at the Cedar City Library while supplies last. Show your Eventbrite ticket or registration confirmation to library staff to recieve your complimentary book.
This event is part of the Juneteenth Festival in Cedar City, a weeklong celebration of the emancipation of slavery in the U.S.
