Join J.N. "Ding Darling in celebration of National Trails Day!
Connect to nature and the beauty of "Ding" by learning more about the history of National Trails Day and the National Trails System Act of 1968. Join a Refuge staff for this fun and educational mini program and then walk at your own pace on the Indigo Trail.
Event Details:
Meet at the flagpole in front of the Visitor & Education Center by 8:50 a.m. to check in.
The mini program spans 20 minutes. After, we will set out on the Indigo Trail. The route follows a boardwalk and a gravel-shell trail for ~2 miles one-way. Walk as fast and as far as you like, and chat with our staff along the way.
Can't make it? Stop by the Visitor and Education Center Patio between 10:00a.m. and 3:00p.m. to learn more about responsible recreation and pick up a free family hiking scavenger hunt!
Program and parking are free. We suggest that you bring water, bug spray, a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and anything else you may need to ensure your protection from Florida's climate.
