Description

By John Gibson, WNIN May 19, 2022 COVID-19 cases and deaths continue to rise in western Kentucky. The Green River District Health Department recorded 177 new infections in the past week. Experts say such counts are almost certainly smaller than the reality, because many people now test at home. The agency also added three fatalities in the seven-county district but it's not clear when those deaths occurred. They were residents of Daviess, Hancock, and Ohio counties. The Department says its COVID-19 Community Level stands at medium for Henderson and Union Counties and low for the other counties in the district. Officials urge you to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. They say those who are immunocompromised or at high risk for disease should consider wearing a mask in public indoor spaces.
