Description
PLAINFIELD, IL — Catholic Charities, part of the Diocese of Joliet, will host the 30th annual Back to School Fair in July as a way to help students from low-income households in the new school year.
The fair will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 25 at St. Mary Immaculate Parish, 15629 S. Route 59 in Plainfield. At the event, participants will drive through the parking lot to receive school supplies, according to organizers.
"Catholic Charities' Back to School Fairs help prepare children from low-income households for a new school year by providing a variety of services, including free school supplies," the event's description reads.
A limited number of supplies will be available, and organizers are encouraging people wanting to participate to register as soon as possible. Online pre-registration, which is required, will begin May 23.
Donations of backpacks pre-filled with school supplies are also being accepted. Each backpack costs $20, and donations can be made here.
