Description
OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Community Yard Sale is returning this summer with two days of sales planned for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 3 and June 4, rain or shine.
To participate, Oswego residents have to pay a $7 advertising fee before they complete an online form. Those interested have until 5 p.m. on May 27 to complete all required registration items.
Village staff organizing the event will advertise and publicize the event through Oswego's website and social media as well as in an ad in the Oswego Ledger on June 2. Residents keep the money they make.
"Garage sales are great for our community's environment, promoting reuse and recycling of materials, however, particular guidelines are in place for this year's sale to help sellers and customers remain safe," officials said in a news release.
Guidelines, which can be found on the village's website, include information about privacy — participants' addresses will be shared, but no names will be attached — publicity and weather.
Here's a look at the public safety guidelines organizers put in place for the upcoming event.

Airflow is essential.Place a table with hand sanitizer and/or disinfecting wipes and a garbage can at the front of the sale for customer use.Hang clothing or place them on tables so as not to make customers sort through piles or bins.Clean and disinfect common areas and surfaces that are touched by multiple people.Sellers handling money should wash their hands frequently. You may post no more than two signs that are not on your property. You are required to remove the signs at the close of the sale and are not allowed to place signs on utility poles or street signs.
