Malvern: Officer-involved Fatal Shooting

MALVERN —A Malvern resident was fatally shot today after a struggle with a borough police officer during a wellness check in the resident's home in the 800 block of the Charleston Greene townhouse development. According to the Chester County District Attorney's office: Malvern police department responded to an 11 a.m. call for a wellness check. During the course of the investigation, the subject displayed a firearm, and a struggle ensued. An officer-involved shooting occurred, and the subject was fatally shot. Police determined this was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the community. Per the District Attorney's protocol, Chester County detectives are investigating this incident.
