BURR RIDGE, IL – A Burr Ridge trustee is encouraging something to be done about parking at County Line Square. "We've had a problem there forever," Trustee Joe Snyder said at a Village Board meeting last week. He suggested ways to keep employees from parking in spots meant for customers. The problem is especially bad during the weekends, he said. He said the problem would only get worse once Jonny Cabs opens. The village issued a permit for the restaurant and nightclub last year. The establishment's website says it is opening soon. But the phone number listed on the site has been disconnected. And when Patch called a number on Jonny Cabs' Twitter page, a man who answered said he knew nothing about the business. Parking at County Line Square took center stage last year when the Village Board considered a permit for the Are We Live lounge, which the board later approved. At the time, members of the village's Plan Commission said the shopping center failed to handle parking, which resulted in a number of tenants getting zoning exceptions from parking requirements. They said County Line Square needed an overall plan that would make it a "planned unit development." During the debate over parking, John Garber, son of County Line Square owner Bob Garber, told the Plan Commission that parking was not an issue at County Line Square. Some officials agreed. At a Village Board meeting, Trustee Tony Schiappa said last year he has always found a spot at the shopping center, no matter the time of day. In November, the board approved a planned unit development for County Line Square.
