DETROIT — A mother of two was struck and killed Monday afternoon while trying to cross a road in Southwest Detroit, police said. The woman was crossing Livernois Road near McMillan Street around 5 p.m. when she waited on a median until traffic could clear, so she could finish crossing the road, police said. That's when police said a truck never turned with the road and jumped the median, striking the woman. The driver of the truck never stopped and continue driving south after the crash, police said. Officials have not identified the woman yet, and they were still reviewing security footage of the crash, police said. Detroit police asked anyone with information to come forward and call Detroit Police at 313-267-4600.
