And immediately hiring for a Full time Sous Chef and includes a competitive pay rate What you'll be doing: This position works under the Director of Culinary Service, and supports all activities of the Culinary Service Department and Dining Room. The position is responsible for the quality of meals served, quality of service delivery during meal service, and for compliance with special diets offered by the community. Job Details: -We offer a consistent schedule This is an hourly position and we are finished in the kitchen by 9 PM -We are looking for a Sous Chef with a strong Kitchen presence and knife skills. Whom will assist the cook team in the preparation of daily meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. -Familiar with wide variety of menu items as we offer globally inspired cuisine to our residents. -The Sous Chef will become an expert in each culinary position and be able to help fill in as needed. -Our resident count is consistent and the daily meal count is known ahead of time. -Assist Culinary Director with food and menu execution. Ensure food is stocked, prepared and rotated properly. -We offer a 6 week rotating menu for both Lunch and Dinner. Recipes and menus are all well thought out and planned. -Experience with modified texture diets a plus. We are willing to train in the area as well. -We are a kosher facility. Our goal is to offer global inspired cuisine made from kosher ingredients. We will train the candidate under these guidelines. -Ensure compliance with Senior Living / Healthcare requirements. -Lead a team through teaching, professionalism and good example -Perform other duties as assigned or needed. Requirements: -Our organization is subject to Proclamation 21-14 in which employees must be vaccinated against Covid-19 -Must have compassion for and desire to work with seniors! -High School Diploma or equivalent required. -Minimum one year of experience in food service required. -Minimum three years experience in food service preferred. -Obtain Food Handlers Permit (as required by state regulation). -Strong written and verbal communication skills, personnel skills, and community relations skills are essential. -Must be able to pass a criminal background check. -Implements dietary and food service policies and procedures to meet the resident dietary needs and preferences. -Manages the dietary staff in pursuit of excellence in food and service quality and resident satisfaction. -Remains knowledgeable at all times with regards to Health Department codes for sanitation and food preparation. -Ensures cleanliness and safety in all dietary areas of the building. -Demonstrates proper equipment use, handling, care and safety. -If applicable, assist with ordering food, supplies, and managing invoices.
