Basic Information • We are hiring several temporary summer positions to help move several thousands of books in the Central Library. These positions are currently expected to end at the end of July. • Reports to Director of Central Library Operations. • 20 hours/week. • Work will be physical and dusty. • Wage: $14.24 per hour. • This position is open until filled. You Need • Physical stamina required, including the abilities to move book trucks weighing up to 100 pounds, to lift 50 pounds, shelve on both high and low shelves. • Must be able to perform duties in busy, noisy environments and tight spaces. • Ability to speak and understand English is required, additional consideration may be given to individuals that are proficient in any non-English languages spoken in Jackson County, MO including Spanish, Vietnamese, French, Arabic, and Swahili. • Minimum requirements include a High School diploma or G.E.D. The educational requirement may also be met by an equivalent combination of education, relevant work experience, and life experience. Schedule Monday through Friday 10:00am – 3:00pm. This schedule subject to change. Once trained the schedule can be somewhat flexible and from 20-24 hours a week, preferable in 4 to 6 hour shifts.
