Firemen's Parade Art Along the Sidewalk Contest

Wallkill Hook, Ladder & Hose Co. (aka Wallkill Fire Dept.) will be hosting the Hudson Valley's Firemen's Parade on June 18, 2022. Let's show our community spirit and support for these men and women who put their life on the line for us! Vision of Wallkill will offer 2 top prizes of a $25 Amazon Gift Card- one for elementary students and another for upper grade students. There will also be runner-up gifts. Adults are encouraged to enter but will not be judged. We are asking a $5 entry fee for your commitment to complete a picture showing support of our fire departments. You will be provided with a blank, corrugated plastic 18" x 24" lawn sign as your canvas. The long side of the canvas is the horizontal side; the short side of the canvas is the vertical side. Acrylic paint that is sealed with Modge Podge works best. You will need to seal your own artwork. On the back of your art, write in bold 2-inch (minimum) letters: "Art Along the Sidewalk" and "By Vision of Wallkill", along with the child's first name, initial of last name, grade, and age. To Enter: You can pick up a blank sign and register on: -May 2-20 at Shawangunk Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours, 9am-4pm To Drop Off Artwork: All finished artwork needs to be dropped off by Tuesday, June 7. -June 4, 12-1pm at Popp Park -June 1-7 at Shawangunk Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours, 9am-4pm Winners will be selected on June 9 and artwork will be displayed around the hamlet beginning Saturday, June 11.
