U.P. Janitorial Service, Inc. seeks full-time Janitors/Cleaning Staff to join their team in the Houghton, Michigan area. No experience needed; we will provide the training. If you’re reliable and enjoy cleaning, we want to hear from you! RESPONSIBILITIES. • Clean, sanitize, sweep, mop, vacuum all types of flooring and surfaces (carpet, wood, tile, paneling, etc.) in customer homes/businesses and in accordance with service agreement. • Clean restrooms, toilets, sinks, mirrors, counters, empty trash cans, dust surfaces, etc. • Come prepared for the day’s activities (stocked with supplies). • Interact with the customer as needed. • Perform custodial duties including safely using hazardous cleaning chemicals. • Troubleshoot and identify possible facility repairs and advise supervisor and/or customer. • Replenish supplies and keeping inventory of supplies. COMPENSATION/BENEFITS. Starting wage of $14 - $15 per hour, based on your experience, with opportunity to grow within our company. Position offers a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan and supplemental insurance. SCHEDULE: • Summer months (June-August): schedule flexibility based on your availability and client needs; generally Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm or Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. • Winter months (September-May): Monday-Friday 2:30pm-10pm. QUALIFICATIONS. • Previous experience in janitorial, cleaning, facility maintenance, or other directly related experience helpful, but not required. • Ability to work afternoons (winter months) and days (summer months). • Excellent attention to detail and pride in your work. • Ability to work with little to no supervision. • Ability to work under time constraints to ensure deadlines are met. • Reliable transportation required.
