During this event, Sedaris will do a reading from his new book HAPPY-GO-LUCKY! We are thrilled to welcome award-winning author David Sedaris to An Unlikely Story! Sedaris is the author of twelve books, including A Carnival of Snackery, The Best of Me, and Calypso, and he is a regular contributor to The New Yorker and BBC Radio 4. During this event, Sedaris will do a reading from his new book HAPPY-GO-LUCKY, his first new collection of personal essays since the bestselling Calypso. In HAPPY-GO-LUCKY, Sedaris captures his most unexpected, hilarious, and poignant upheavals from living through the Covid pandemic, and expresses in precise language both the misanthropy and desire for connection that drive us all. If we must live in interesting times, there is no one better to chronicle them than the incomparable David Sedaris. Cindy House, author of Mother Noise and Sedaris' former student, will open the event with a short reading. Following Sedaris's reading will be an audience Q & A and signing. TICKET TYPES: Ticket Type #1: "Presentation admission & signing + the book" This ticket includes admission for one to the seated presentation, entrance into the signing line, and one copy of Sedaris' Happy-Go-Lucky. These tickets are limited and are expected to sell out quickly. Sedaris will sign and personalize his new book, and all copies of his previous titles available in paperback at the event. Tickets to the presentation go on sale Monday, May 16th at 2pm. **Please note photos will not be allowed during the presentation or signing. Ticket Type #2: "Admission into the signing line + the book" This ticket includes admission for one into the signing line and one copy of Sedaris' Happy-Go-Lucky. Signing line tickets are unlimited and Sedaris will sign and personalize his new book, and all copies of his previous titles available in paperback at the event. Tickets for the signing line will go on sale Wednesday, May 18th at 2pm. Attendees with signing line tickets will be email the week of the event with an arrival time. **Please note photos will not be allowed during the signing.
