Then our Essential Home Maintenance 101 Workshop is a Hosted by our special guest instructor Erin Helland of Hard Hat Diplomat, this half day hands-on and interactive workshop, presented with live demos, will teach you: How to prevent and diagnose common problems How to conduct basic repairs on your own, and know when it's time to call in a professional How to feel more at ease when facing emergency and permanent repairs at home Topics in this 101 course include: HVAC - breakers, emergency condensation line, changing the air filter Plumbing - addressing links, water main and local shut offs, caulking, snaking a drain, sealing a pipe, stopping a running toilet Electrical - replacing a light switch or outlet Drywall - hanging tips and basic patching How to Safely use and operate a Nail Gun and Power Drill Toolbox - a tool petting zoo and essential tools checklist General Safety This is "home maintenance light" a half-day, pared-down pandemic safe version of the all day, all weekend versions. This is a fun class meant to give participants basic exposure to tools, broad stroke understanding of fixes, and an idea of essential safety and maintenance routines to keep the house in order.
