Want to be a guardian, mentor, and champion for students and school communities? Come to our School Safety Hiring Fair and apply! The Office of School Safety is recruiting its next class of Officers to begin training in early August 2022. New School Safety Officers are employed on a 10-month basis (summers off) and are based in School District schools. Officers hired for the start of the 2022-2023 School Year will receive additional compensation to train over the summer period. During this in-person hiring fair prospective School Safety Officers will have an opportunity to hear directly from Office of School Safety leadership and to have questions answered by School Safety and Talent Support Services Staff. Candidates that apply in advance of the fair will have an opportunity to interview at the fair. Those interested in the role that have not applied in advance will be able to apply during the hiring fair, and will likely be able to interview on the same day. The starting salary for 10-month School Safety Officers is $29,742. Per the collective bargaining agreement for this role, new School Safety Officers' salary will increase to $32,863, effective 9/1/22. This is a union-represented position with outstanding benefits.
