MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Police in West Windsor said Tuesday they were increasing their presence outside shopping centers, places of worship and schools, after the shooting in Buffalo, NY. We have yet again to come to a time where we cannot stand next to our religious organizations, schools, residents and families, but we must stand in front of them, ensuring all are protected," West Windsor Police Chief Robert Garofalo said in a message to the community. Accused gunman Payton Gendron, posted a 180-page document to Google Docs mentioning several New Jersey towns including Lakewood, Jersey City and Toms River. "I have asked our officers to give additional, high-visibility attention to our houses of worship, schools, and shopping centers. We remain ever vigilant to ensure everyone is safe and secure in their persons and property," Garofalo said. The police chief asked residents to remain aware of their surroundings and call the police if they see anything suspicious.
