NEWARK, NJ — Officers from the Essex County sheriff's department helped to apprehend a man accused of "strong-arm robbery" in New York City on Tuesday in Newark, authorities said. Corrie "Lloyd" Corny allegedly attacked and robbed an 86-year-old victim in East Harlem on July 21, 2021, according to the Essex County Sheriff's Office. Essex County Sheriff's office detectives assisted the Manhattan Warrant Squad and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office with apprehending Corny, arresting him at the Bradley Court housing complex in Newark at 5:30 a.m. Corny has pending charges and open warrants with the Essex County Sheriff's Office, a warrant for robbery in Manhattan, and a charge of resisting arrest by flight, authorities said.
