Comunidad Maya Pixam Ixim invites to YOU to the First Annual Indigenous Peoples Summit! Join us as a collaborator, presenter, or attendee...
August 9 is declared by the United Nations as The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples. On this day, people across the world raise awareness and protect the rights of the world's indigenous population. To honor this day, we recognize the achievements and contributions that indigenous people make to improve world issues, such as environmental protection.
Here in Nebraska, we want to host an event that reflects the knowledge, wisdom, and culture of all indigenous people who currently call Nebraska home. On August 9 at MCC South Omaha, we will be hosting the First Annual Indigenous People’s Summit. The theme will be Environmental Justice and Food Soverignty.
We are inviting YOU to join us. Whether you would like to be part of the planning committee, suggest ideas, attend as a guest, or join our growing list of sponsors, you are welcome and appreciated.
