Help Brisbane Elementary build a playground in partnership with KABOOM! and the Abbvie Foundation! Shifts available June 28 - 30: Tuesday Morning: 8:30am - 12pm (June 28)Tuesday Afternoon: 1pm - 4:30pm (June 28)Wednesday Morning: 8:30am - 12pm (June 29)Wednesday Afternoon: 1pm - 4:30pm (June 29)Thursday: 8:30am - 3pm (June 30)Details: Lunch, snacks, and water will be providedAll necessary tools and equipment will be provided, but please dress for the weather. Childcare available upon requestVolunteers must be 14 or olderLocation: Brisbane Elementary, 500 San Bruno Ave Tasks will be available for all abilities, which may include: Unloading, sorting, labeling, and assembling playground equipment parts (Tuesday)Digging holes and prepping the site (Wednesday)Mixing cement, installing posts, shoveling and moving mulch (Thursday)Less physically demanding activities: registering volunteers, prepping food, childcare supervisionMore Info: The current playground at BES is 15 years old and it is time to replace it. KABOOM! has helped us partner with the Abbvie Foundation to provide funding and volunteers to help complete this project. The BES site council worked with KABOOM! to create a design that fits our playground area and provides more inclusive opportunities to play. As a community, we are looking for 20 volunteers for each of the first two days of the build (parts assembly and site prep) and 40 volunteers for the third day (installing the playground). Abbvie will be sending an additional 125 volunteers on June 30. Have questions? These rules have been established and agreed upon to ensure the safety, comfort and respect for all involved. Failure to comply will result in immediate dismissal from the project. • Work together, treat everyone with respect and use family-friendly, inclusive language • Report any unsafe or inappropriate behavior to on-site staff • Please comply with all requests from on-site staff • Follow all safety guidelines • Only pre-approved power tools are permitted • Closed-toe shoes are required • Youth under the age of 14 may not participate in areas of active construction • No smoking, alcohol or drugs • The use or carry of firearms is prohibited *with the exception of certified, active officers
