Description
MTAC hosts the annual State Convention where world-renowned artists and teachers give recitals, lectures, presentations, and master classes. Each year the Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) hosts the State Convention, bringing together world-class artists, music educators and students to celebrate music performance and composition. Taking place from July 1 through July 5, over 5,000 attendees will experience a five-day extravaganza filled with seminars, performances, recitals, presentations, and master classes. In addition, there are free public performances by professional musicians and an exciting world premiere of a specially commissioned musical piece. The Student Track is open to all school-aged students and college students of music teachers. Student performer registration does not include the Student Track sessions and events; these performers are welcome to register for Student Track registration. This year, the Student Track features sessions by our guest artists designed for students and access to all guest artist concerts. It’s an event not to be missed! Please visit mtac.org/convention for more information. Hotel Reservations Click here to reserve your groups with the MTAC rate! All hotel reservations must be made by June 8, 2022. MTAC Convention 2022 Health Protocol The health and safety of MTAC Convention attendees is a top priority to MTAC. In order to provide a healthy and safe environment, MTAC is requiring all attendees (age 5 and up) provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (two doses of Moderna/Pfizer or one dose of Johnson & Johnson) or a negative COVID test completed no more than 48 hours prior to check-in in order to attend the MTAC Convention. Since the MTAC Convention is considered a mega event under the Orange County Department of Health Guidelines, unvaccinated attendees will need to provide proof of a negative Covid 19 test from a third-party for EACH day of attendance at the Convention. Masks are required by all individuals in indoor public spaces, regardless of vaccination status. This health and safety policy is based on guidance and recommendations issued by health authorities for events of our size. Please note this policy is subject to change. All Convention attendees will be required to agree to Music Teachers’ Association Of California Consent, Waiver and Release Agreement For Annual Convention Sessions. Read more here.
