The San Juan Unified School District is seeking a Electrician immediately to work in large K-12 school district in Sacramento County! Summary: Under general supervision, performs skilled electrical work in the repair, alteration, and installation of electrical equipment and wiring systems. The right candidate will have the following qualifications: Education and Experience: Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or electrical trade school; extensive journey level experience, preferably in commercial electrical installations and maintenance. Must be able to: • Have the willingness to respond to emergency calls at night and/or on weekends • Position self to perform work on a ladder at elevated heights or enclosed spaces • Assembles, installs, connects, repairs, and maintains district electrical and lighting systems, and replaces breakers, panels, low voltage transformers, and ballasts in lights. • Knowledge and skill in installing and repairing electrical equipment and wiring systems and in using tools and equipment associated with the trade. • Knowledge and skill in use of computers and assorted software programs and basic math, fractions, algebra, and Ohm’s Law. • Ability to read and interprets blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings, and complex technical manuals. • To work indoor and outdoor in extreme heat and cold and with moderate to loud noise, or below ground level • Ability to pass the criminal background check • Ability to use and operate shop equipment and tools, and lift/move objects up to 75 pounds • Considerate, positive attitude, and the ability to maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance. • Commitment to quality results Licenses and Certificates: • Possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license. • Must possess or attain an Aerial Lift Operator Safety Certification within 12 months of employment.
