STAMFORD, CT —After a two-year investigation, police said they arrested a 60-year-old Stamford man on a warrant that charges him with possession of child pornography.
Daniel Korwoski turned himself in to police on May 12. He was given a court-set bond of $50,000, according to police.
In the spring of 2020, an investigator from the Stamford Police Department's Special Victims Unit met with residents from the area of Arden Lane, who described "multiple and similar disturbing incidents" related to the behavior of Korwoski, police said.
A child stated that Korwoski filmed her naked in his basement, and another child said that Korwoski exposed himself in a pool, police said.
Police executed a search warrant on Korwoski's home and seized hundreds of possible pieces of evidence.
"Officers worked with the SPD forensic unit, and it took an absorbent amount of time to download and view multiple videos," police said in a news release.
After reviewing the evidence and completing forensic analysis, investigators determined that 57 images were categorized as child pornography
"During the investigation it was confirmed that Korwoski had some bizarre behavior and fetishes," police said. One type of behavior involved Korwoski dressing as a mascot or cheerleader to gain the confidence and attention of young girls who played sports, police said.
"We would like to commend all the officers involved in this long and arduous investigation and hopes this arrest brings some solace and safety to the concerned neighbors," police said in a news release.
