Description
A Concrete Form Setter/Carpenter will be expected to perform a variety of tasks that require physical labor on construction sites in all types of weather. Construct, erect, install, repair, and set forms for concrete structures, buildings, and site work according to specifications and drawings using hand and power tools. Assist other craft workers and take instructions. Position and secure reinforcing bars or mesh in concrete forms as needed. Primary Responsibilities and Expectations General Everyday Requirements • Understand and follow through with Employee Safety Manual and associated policies. Wear and use PPE at all times (hard hat, safety glasses, hi-vis, work boots, and any other PPE as assigned by JHA) • Maintain a clean, professional appearance that adequately represents the company • Be highly motivated and driven to make the project a success. • Honest and Forthright character. • Keep jobsite, trucks, trailer and equipment clean at all times. • Be a team player – be accountable to team members. • Keep a positive attitude and be able to work well with others. • Be Flexible and able to change directions with minimal notice. • Able to be fully present during the work day with no outside distractions, i.e. non-emergency phone calls and smoke breaks. • Ability to follow instructions, listen and work as a team. • Ability to use basic measuring tools in English; measure accurately. • Desire to make the most of learning opportunities. • Personal tools • Ability to arrive at work on time for every scheduled shift Experience, Education and Certifications Experience • 2 or more years of experience in similar position or industry. Preference to Concrete or Framing. • Must be at least 20 years of age. • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation • Must have experience accomplishing tasks as directed with minimal supervision. • Experience in industry standards and techniques for concrete form work and construction. Specifically, plywood and/or Symons forming systems. • Experience in basic construction layout techniques. Education or Training • Must learn how to execute this position’s basic responsibilities within 30 days • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Construction math skills • Desire to continue professional development. • Must be able to operate small equipment such as skid steers and forklifts. • Must be able to skillfully operate hand held and power tools necessary to complete tasks. Certifications – to be obtained during course of employment • OSHA 10 – to be completed on-line within 60 days of employment. • Confined Space Certification • Fall Protection Training • Scaffold Construction Training • First Aid Certification Physical Requirements • This job requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. • This position requires the employee to demonstrate full range of motion with neck, arms, shoulders, hands, torso, legs, and feet. • The employee will frequently need full manual dexterity to complete tasks assigned. • The ability to talk and hear is essential to this position. • Ability to regularly lift, carry, push or pull materials and tools up to 100 lbs. • The position requires the employee to stand or kneel repeatedly for extensive periods of time. Working Environment • You will work on job sites primarily outdoors, in all types of weather conditions. • Dress appropriately for the weather. This Is Montana and you must be prepared for any sudden weather shift that may occur. • It is your responsibility to be prepared for work every day. • You will be exposed to and working near moving mechanical parts and equipment. • Pay attention to your surroundings at all times. Room available for rent in Belgrade if necessary for qualified experienced candidate.
