VEGGI Farmers Cooperative is hosting Winson Nuong & Vy Linh Nguyen to celebrate Vietnamese cuisine and APPI Heritage in New Orleans! Join us for a VEGGI Farm Cooperative fundraiser to celebrate AAPI Heritage in New Orleans! We are hosting two incredible Vietnamese cooks who's creativity is keeping alive their Vietnamese heritage and building legacy through their kitchen creations. All fundraiser proceeds will go to VEGGI Farmers Cooperative & the participating businesses! Winson Duong is a chef native to the Bay Area in California. He has been cooking professionally since 2005. He started at Google HQ and then went on to be the Global Executive Chef at Palantir, running that program for 5 years. In 2017, he was the Executive Chef at Paper Plane and Supergood Kitchen where he served New American food, and home style Southeast Asian cuisine, respectively. He’s currently designing a food new menu at BOPOMOFO in Los Angeles. Winson loves scratch cooking and working with spice and aggressive flavors, and is excited to cook in New Orleans using its local food shed! As a New Orleans native, Vy Linh has always found food to be central to her life. She began Viet Cooking Nola (@vietcookinnola) to share the Vietnamese dishes she grew up eating with her family.Her late mother, an extraordinary home cook, taught herself how to prepare dishes from her motherland of Vietnam to maintain memories of her home. Vy Linh’s mother instilled the importance of knowing your heritage and sharing those stories through culturally resonant Vietnamese dishes. Today, Vy Linh continues to carry on her mother’s legacy through cooking and sharing Vietnamese meals like the ones her mother made. We are happy to have Sông Cái Distillery crafting our evenings cocktails. A fun fact - Daniel is one of the original founders of VEGGI Farmers Cooperative! We are so excited to welcome him back to collaborate on this event with us! His small batch gin company was founded in 2018 in Hà Nội, & is Việt Nam’s first gin distillery. They use wild hand-foraged botanicals, fruits, flowers, and wood unique to Việt Nam’s Highlands* You don't want to miss these cocktails!
