NAUGATUCK — Taxpayers can rest easy this year knowing the recently approved town and school spending plan for 2022-23 will not raise their tax bill.
According to the Citizen's News, the town's joint boards of mayor and burgesses and the finance board last week adopted a $132.2 million budget.
The May 11 move to approve the budget, which was 2 percent larger than current spending, came after a sparse turnout at a budget public hearing and the tax rate will remain the same at 47.75 mills, according to the Citizen's News publication.
With a mill rate at 47.75, the tax for a home assessed at $200,000 would be $9,550 — unchanged from this year. For the Citizen's News full report on the budget, visit this link.
