Here are the top stories today in Denver: Starbucks on East Colfax becomes first in Denver to unionize. Citing the need for improved working conditions and better pay, workers at the East Colfax coffee chain's store have unanimously voted to unionize with the Colorado chapter of Workers United. (5280)New Bridge over South Platte opens in Denver. The 8th Avenue bridge over the South Platte River closed last September to replace the old 92-year-old bridge. The new bridge includes a second eastbound travel lane for cars and 10-foot-wide multi-use sidewalk for pedestrians and bikes. (9News)JetBlue goes hostile in takeover bid of Spirit Airlines. JetBlue has pitched a new offer of $30 per share in cash to Spirit stockholders but said it'll increase the offer to $33 per share if Spirit agrees to consider the offer, and spurn Frontier's bid. (FOX31)Denver' E-Bike rebate maxed out after only three weeks. As part of Denver's Climate Action Rebate program, the city's first foray into rebates for e-bikes, received 3,250 applications. Denver officials say the program quickly reached capacity for e-bike rebates, and so far, it appears that they will not be accepting additional applications. Despite a lively debate in City Council chambers on Monday night as to whether or not the law would be selectively enforced, with some arguing that it would end up being and aimed at people of color.
