This is an entry level position with on-the-job training. An Instrument operator will function as a member of a crew performing data collection tasks. Responsibilities may include operating motorized vehicles and using mobile and static instruments while collecting images and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data for establishing 3D points, and imagery for CAD and GIS models. Daly responsibilities include the collection and initial processing of 3D and image data from instruments and its transmission via FTP or similar protocols for processing. Duties include the operation and maintenance of the assigned crew vehicle, supplies and equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Work requires using a mobilized vehicles and computer/LiDAR equipment. Lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. may be required. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate various pieces of field equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms, speak, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell. The employee must be able to get in and out of vehicle multiple times a day and drive 30 to 60 miles daily. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential function of this job. The employee works outside in fair types of weather conditions, possibly for extended periods of time. This is an outdoor position, and an ability to tolerate a wide range of field conditions is required. Hours – 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pay Rate – Minimum $17.00 hour and overtime.
