JOLIET, IL — Gabriel Rodriguez-McSwine is the 16-year-old Joliet teenager charged in connection with Sunday night's non-fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy at the Meadow View Elementary School property, according to Will County prosecutors.
Rodriguez-McSwine lives in the 1700 block of Wake Island Drive, which is between Thomas Hickey Drive and Theodore Street on Joliet's west side.
According to court records, Rodriguez-McSwine will turn 17 on May 31. Joliet police announced his arrest on Tuesday. He is being charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, aggravated discharge of a gun and three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
The Joliet 16-year-old is being held on a $1 million bail at the River Valley Juvenile Center on McDonough Street. In Tuesday's news release, Joliet police announced that the gun used in Sunday night's shooting was recovered during a search of the house where Rodriguez-McSwine resides.
