GENEVA, IL — Throughout March and into April, gas prices continued to decrease in Illinois. But now in May, that's no longer the case. In Geneva, prices continue to increase from previous weeks.
As of Wednesday, the average price for gas in Illinois is about $4.92 per gallon, according to AAA. That's up 15 cents from the week before and 58 cents from a month ago.
At around $4.94 per gallon in Kane County, gas prices were slightly above the state average.
Nationally Friday, the average was about $4.57 per gallon.
With prices as high as they are, you can still save a little bit if you know where to look in Geneva.
