The company is headquartered in Frankfort, IL and has a location in Chicago, IL. Between both locations, Promet has around 65 employees. Position Summary: The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for all areas of HR including recruiting, new hire orientation, employee benefits, , compliance, performance management, employee relations, training and development, and employee engagement. The HR Generalist is a department of one with the opportunity to grow into an HR Manager. This role will support about 65 employees all located in Illinois. Responsibilities: Recruit for all levels of the organization. Conduct interviews, pre-employment testing, and background/reference checks. Assist with administration of group benefits including employee enrollment meetings, assisting employees on questions related to benefits and reviewing monthly insurance billing for accuracy. Works with department managers on the employee performance management process and recommends compensation and merit adjustments. Set up, maintain and audit employee personnel files in order to comply with Promet Steel standards in addition to State and Federal regulations. Prepares new hire orientation packets and leads new hir orientation. conducts orientation. Ensures the orientation packet is updated and accurate. Advises employees with job-related issues, interpretation of policies and procedures and takes part in formal disciplinary action if necessary. Ensure Promet Steel is in compliance with all State, Federal and Local laws and keeps up to date on changes to applicable government laws and regulations. Creates, revises and maintains job descriptions for all positions. Monitors workers' compensation claims and submits required documentation (accident report, employee statement, pictures, etc.) in a timely manner. Develop, distribute and conduct employee training and development programs and recommend additional training and development programs to management. Prepare payroll reports and forms and submit to management weekly. Monitor employee attendance records for compliance with Promet's attendance policy for both probationary and non-probationary employees. Manage and process unemployment insurance claims and respond to initial claims as deemed appropriate. Manage and process wage garnishments and deductions in a timely fashion. Approve vacation request per policy and update the calendar Other duties as assigned Interviews: First round interviews are virtual and second-round interviews are in person Location: Frankfort, IL with potential to move to hybrid.
